Water Saving Bonus
You may be eligible for an additional “Water Saving Rebate Bonus” for
success in keeping your water use low. SAWS Conservation staff will track
your water use each month starting immediately after your gift certificate is issued.
If your watering habits follow our recommendations, you will most likely
qualify for the bonus that will come in the form of a credit on your water bill at the end of one year.
You will receive an e-mail each month detailing the amount of water you used during the month and also whether you're on target or over target for your projected water usage.
Why Have a Water Saving Rebate Bonus?
The bonus exists because water savings from low-water need landscapes are
not automatic. The water savings are dependent on the watering habits of homeowners
who maintain landscapes. Some homeowners are extremely frugal in their
water habits, while others apply far more water than their landscape needs.
The bonus is intended to encourage homeowners to follow very frugal watering
habits so the full potential of the water savings possible can be realized.
How Much Is the Bonus?
Premium Rebate Bonus Incentive: Bonus amounts for premium rebate recipients are
outlined in the table below. The premium is available to homeowners who choose conservation measures such as preserved
areas or no irrigation system. Our reviews of previous rebate recipients
show that customers who take these steps are more likely to be successful
in conserving water. If you have realized the full potential of your water
savings, you will receive the bonus amounts outlined below:

Standard Rebate Incentive: If you have a permanent in-ground irrigation
system, it would be easier for you to over-water and therefore not meet
your expected water usage for a watersaver landscape. However, it is possible
that you can use a well-designed irrigation system carefully and still
save water. If you have done that, your bonus amounts are outlined below:
