Clean Air Essential for Healthy Environment

  San Antonio

Just like pure water, clean air is also vital to a healthy environment. All it takes to ensure we have clean air for our region is a lot of knowledge and some initiative.

For many years SAWS has supported efforts to reduce air pollution in the Alamo Region to preserve our natural resources.  Some of the measures taken by SAWS to reduce air pollution include:

  • Use of compact fluorescent lamps
  • Utiizing the computer sleep mode
  • Water conservation programs to reduce energy consumption and electronic bill payment
  • Employee bus pass program
  • Issuance of Air Quality Health Alerts
  • Air quality education and workshops
  • Displaying AQHA banners
  • Participation in Walk & Roll events
CleanAirDrive.com

CleanAirDrive.com provides both information and services to help reduce air pollution.  Visit their site at CleanAirDrive.com to learn more about alternative fuels and commuting options, ground-level ozone pollution and how it affects your health and how your business can help take action by joining the Alamo Clean Air Partnership.

CleanAirDrive.com is coordinated by the Alamo Area Council of Governments.

River Cities Rideshare The Austin and San Antonio areas are joining forces to give residents a user-friendly, one-stop commuting information site.
