Morning Storms Trigger an Overflow on Holbrook Road

Heavy rains this morning have SAWS crews responding this afternoon to a sanitary sewer overflow occurring in the far northeast segment of the city. The spill, caused when the 48-inch main overflowed due to the heavy rains, exceeded the trigger for public notice.

The incident occurred in the vicinity of the Salado Creek area on Holbrook Road near Rittiman Road. Since the spill was heavily diluted by stormwater, no adverse effects are expected. SAWS crews are monitoring the areas and will initiate clean up when floodwaters recede. See TCEQ notice for more details.

SAWS Water Quality staff is contacting private well owners in the area.

See TCEQ Notice (pdf) for more details.
