SAWS Launches New Brand Campaign

San Antonio Water System announced the launch of a new image campaign to increase awareness about how water and sewer services are essential to every aspect of our lives — from healthcare to jobs to enjoying recreation with our families.

The “Waterful” campaign kicks off with an innovative social media push that includes videos by local celebrities and leaders talking about the importance of SAWS services. Additional social posts are also taking place today through more than 100 social media accounts, with the hashtag #WaterfulSA, prompting people to learn how SAWS is making this wonderful city Waterful.

“Through feedback from citizens and elected leaders, we have come to realize that most people aren’t aware of the vast infrastructure and constant work that goes into ensuring San Antonio has vital water and sewer services — both now and in the future,” said Gavino Ramos, VP of Communications and External Affairs. “Thanks to strong internal resources and key community partners we were able to develop a very strong campaign that introduces the concept now, and then can be adapted in the future.”

Highlights of the campaign include the city’s diverse water resources portfolio; our extensive infrastructure; industry-leading innovation and our investment in education and payment assistance programs.

Community partners such as Hemisfair Park and the San Antonio Convention & Visitors Bureau provided images at no cost allowing SAWS to work with a small budget to produce the message of how critical infrastructure is in our everyday lives.

The ads will run in print, on broadcast and cable television, on radio, billboards, online media and social media and can be viewed at www.saws.org/waterful

SAWS maintains, inspects and cleans more than 12,000 miles water and sewer pipes throughout the city — enough to stretch from South Texas to Australia.
