Save Money All Year with Winter Averaging

Save water now, save money throughout 2017. It’s as simple as turning off your irrigation system. Because SAWS sewer charges are based on your average winter water use, watering your landscape less now can add up to big savings all year long.

Winter averaging monitors the amount of water you use during three complete billing cycles from mid-November to mid-March to calculate your sewer fee for the whole year. At this time of year, your landscape doesn’t have the unquenchable thirst for water that it did during the summer. This means plants and lawns don’t take in as much water and the soil retains more moisture.

So do your landscape — and your wallet —a favor: turn off the irrigation system.
