Suspected Vandalism Triggers Sewer Overflow

San Antonio Water System crews responded to a sewer overflow which occurred late yesterday west of Blanco Road between Bitters Road and Deer Crest Drive. The overflow was caused by vandalism. SAWS crews have removed a tree limb and large pieces of lumber from the sewer pipeline. Clean up operations from the spill are ongoing and expected to continue through the day.

The spill amount has exceeded the requirement for public notice. See TCEQ notice for more details.
