A Salute to SAWS Veterans

SAWS veterans past and present fell into formation Friday, Nov. 10, to be honored as part of utility’s 17th annual Veterans Day breakfast.

The observance aims to recognize military personnel for their service to our country — including more than 130 SAWS employees and retirees who served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

The commemoration kicked off with a traditional posting of colors and flag-raising ceremony by the Edison High School JROTC, followed by mess hall-style grub in the SAWS Café.

Following the breakfast, attendees were treated to a keynote address from Brigadier General Heather Pringle, commander of the 502nd Air Base Wing and Joint Base San Antonio.

Guests of honor included District 10 City Councilman Clayton Perry, SAWS Board Secretary Ernesto Arrellano Jr. and former SAWS CEO Michael Thuss.
