Main Break Season 101

Several San Antonio City Council members got a firsthand look at SAWS main break repairs this summer. Crew members explained the process of valving off the leak, calling for locates and initiating repairs. San Antonio’s clay soil can shift dramatically when it dries out, causing pipes to flex and sometimes rupture. Among city leaders lending a hand were District 6 Councilman Greg Brockhouse, left, District 7 Councilwoman Ana Sandoval, center, and District 5 Councilwoman Shirley Gonzales, right.
