Sewer spill near Rodriguez Park reported

San Antonio Water System crews are responding to a sanitary sewer overflow on the 6100 block of Enrique M. Barrera Parkway (Old Highway 90) near Rodriguez Park. SAWS will initiate cleanup of the area once floodwaters recede.

The spill amount has triggered the requirement for public notice. See TCEQ notice for more details. No adverse impacts to Leon Creek are expected since the spill has been heavily diluted by stormwater.

Areas prone to sewer overflows are the focus of projects replacing and upgrading capacity of sewer lines. Overall, SAWS has more than $170 million in capital improvements budgeted in 2018 to replace and upgrade sewer lines throughout San Antonio.

See TCEQ Notice (pdf) for more details.
