Just a few years ago, San Antonio was totally dependent on day-to-day pumping from the Edwards Aquifer for the city's water needs. Now, as a result of extensive planning, and funding through the Water Supply Fee, SAWS is working to secure San Antonio's water future.

Water Resource Plan Update
SAWS President/CEO David Chardavoyne appointed an
ad hoc task force to conduct a comprehensive review
of current water supply plans. The result is this
proposed update to the 50-year water resource plan.
Project Recommendations
SAWS is moving forward with water supply projects that provide ratepayers with the most viable and affordable options to secure current and future water supplies.
1998 Water
Resource Plan In an effort to reduce dependence on the Edwards
Aquifer, SAWS developed its first long-term water
plan. The document outlines potential sources to meet
the area's water needs for the next 50 years.
