Jaime Castillo
Senior VP Operations Support & Innovation / Chief of Staff
Castillo joined SAWS in 2017 as Chief of Staff for the Office of the President/CEO. In his current role, he oversees key operational areas, including Distribution & Collection, District Cooling, Fleet and Continuous Improvement & Innovation. Castillo also serves as the chief liaison between the CEO’s office and key community stakeholders.
In addition to more than 20 years of combined experience in communications and public affairs, Castillo has a vast range of knowledge in federal, state and municipal government. After 15 years working in local media, Castillo served in key leadership roles in the San Antonio Mayor’s Office before being appointed as an Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in Washington, DC.
Born and raised in El Paso, Castillo earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at El Paso. He has a master’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
