Anyone who has ever experienced a frozen pipe in their home knows what a nightmare it can be. Flashback to February 2021 when the extreme winter weather left many of our neighbors, family and friends without reliable running water due to freeze-damaged pipes.
Then, some San Antonians also found themselves knee-deep in water — inside their homes — after frozen pipes thawed and burst. Had they been able to shut off their water sooner, the outcome might have been much different.
That’s where our new shut-off valve rebate can help. Beginning March 16, SAWS is offering a $100 rebate toward the cost of this important home upgrade that could save money and frustration in the future.
Speed matters if a pipe breaks or a leak develops. Every minute of delay means more destruction to walls, flooring, furniture and possessions. Sadly, many homes don’t have a fast, easy way to shut off the water.
To qualify for the $100 rebate customers must:
- Hire a licensed plumber to install a ball valve. Gate valves are not eligible.
- Have the valve installed close to the meter where it will shut off water to the entire property.
- Make sure installation is done after March 16, 2022.
- Complete the shut-off valve rebate application at GardenStyleSA.com/valve.
- Submit the application with a photo of the new shut-off valve and a copy of the receipt. (Ask the plumber to note the type of service line pipe on your receipt).
Once all rebate requirements are met, a $100 credit will be applied to the customer’s water bill. The offer is limited to the first 2,000 qualified customers.
Please note that replacing existing shutoff valves does not qualify for this rebate.
Full program details will be available March 16 at GardenStyleSA.com/valve.
